Usually, you use power button to lock your phone. However, repeatedly pressing it will eventually shorten its life.
Try TapTap now! This app allows you to double-tap your touchscreen to lock your screen, thus allowing you to extend your hardware button's life. You can configure to use this app only on home screen or anywhere you want.

Problems with uninstall?
If the uninstall button is greyed out in System Settings > Manage App, first navigate to System Settings > Security > Device administrators and deactivate TapTap Screen Lock. Then uninstall the app through Manage App.
