Whot is a game played with a set of non-standard cards in five suits: circles, crosses, triangles, stars and squares. The starting player begins the game by placing any one of their cards face up by the draw pile. This is called the ‘call card’ and as cards are played on top of this, they in turn become the call card. The game continues with each player, in turn, playing a card on top of the call card. The card played must be one of the following – either, a card of any number by the same symbol as the call card, or a card of any symbol by the same number as the call card, or a Whot!
